I have played strategy games for years. I am an avid player of PC games like Civilization, Europa Universalis, and, notably in this case, Hearts of Iron, which puts the player in charge of a nation from 1936-1948, so during WW2. I should also mention I am a veteran of every EASY Inc. game on the market.
This game has decent mechanics and is probably the closest you will get to a game even remotely similar to the ones I mentioned before. However, there is one massive issue that causes me to give it 2 stars: the difficulty. This is mainly due to the facts that the AI is honestly awful and that you cannot sustain a war effort as any power when units are so expensive. No matter what the player does losses almost always outpace replacements. I have mastered the other Easy Inc. games I have played but this one is nearly unplayable to me, which is a shame because I really do enjoy this genre and the other games that Easy Inc. makes.
