Absolutely Amazing
For those of you who have been complaining how this game is hard, unfair, how the USSR is overpowered, in truth, the game is easy and fun once you figure out everything through time after time of playing.
I have been playing for more than a year, and its been such a great offline game to play in spare time, I decided to write my first review here!
I dont understand the complaints. First of all, you have to learn your way through the game. It took me many conquests and missions to get to where I am now (At the NATO and WTO missions).
One of the things that helped me most in the game is the feature where you can build cities ($60) and industry ($50 and 10 wrenches or whatever). This is the way to BEAT the game! I dont know how many times I have to stress this out, but it is easily the main component of a battle. I dont know how many of you have discovered, but building cities 1) lets you build infantry and sometimes armored cars 2) slightly repairs/heals infantry if stationed there for a round 3) gives you money after every round! This is the reason why cities are so important. Because they give you resources! A maxed out city gives you around $30-35 a round. When is the best time to build cities? In the beginning of a game! You start off with a nice amount of supplies, so use it to build multiple cities! That way, since its the first few rounds, enemies wont harm you much, and you earn more money each round than if you hadnt built any cities! Think of it as investment. You invest in building a city, and voila, you get easy money back! You can do the same with industry, but I could care less, because money is the main currency, the wrenches are the sub currency, only used in little amounts. Now you can still build them, but cities take priority, unless you are running low on wrenches, and need them. This way of earning money is how I can take over the whole map of 1943 in conquest mode as Spain, and the whole map of Africa as Greece, the whole map of Asia as Great Britain, the whole map of America as Germany, and many more.
"Hey hey, Mr. Knowitall, how can you take over the entire map when you have allies that you cant attack?!" Ah, a wonderful question. This is where things get fun. This can basically only work in conquest, as you have a round limit in mission mode.
First off, there are some things about your allies that you might not know, and is very important in defeating them (teehee). This comes from many experiments and playing for a long time, that I have discovered.
1) You can take your allys land, as long as they dont have any troops stationed there! Just move your troops to their territory, and voila, you get the territory, and everything in it! The allies dont do anything to prevent that. Only sometimes in mission mode, where they would warn you or something. Trust me, nothing is going to happen. And plus, allies wont take your land, no matter what, so you dont have to worry.
"Why are you so mean Mr. Knowitall?" Because allies are plain stupid. I agree with many players and reviews about this. There are occasions where they are smart, but most of the time, they do random things, such as: building useless airports (airports are completely useless and a waste of resources, because bombing and strafing are useless (unless in some cases where I will explain later)), putting carriers on troops for no apparent reason, building random fortifications, moving troops around inefficiently and stupidly.
2) "What if there are troops in an ally territory?" This is a slightly harder part that consumes more resources. This is only recommended for when you have eliminated most of the threats, and kind of leave a useless enemy province to prevent the game from ending. Anyways, this is basically the only time airports are useful. Its because it is possible to harm and destroy ally troops from the air! Yes, you can strafe, bomb, and nuke (for cases where there are a maxed stacked province) the troops. It consumes many resources, as air attack do barely anything (with the exception of the nuke, which has a 100% chance of destroying everything), but it is possible only if you basically took over the whole map, which gives you almost an unlimited supply of resources (maxed out resources many times (9999 money and wrenches)).
Those two things are how you can take over ally land easily. Other thing to mention is, you might have already discovered, but once a nations land is all taken, troops on the sea will disappear, including ships, and harbors become neutral. This might help you, in case you are busy trying to eradicate the troops in the sea.
"Mr. Knowitall, can you tell us how to defeat the missions that we struggle the most on?" Ah right, the dreadful missions. Im sorry but youll have to handle them yourself.
Just joking. There are 2 main ways to completing any mission.
1) The use of supply crates, or supply truck or something (cost $180 and I think 80 wrenches or something). This is probably the Second most Important tool in this game. It helped me so many times in times of crisis, I consider it to be my favorite choice in times of failure. I dont know how many if you know, but supply trucks can hea
There are still many things I have yet to talk about, but these things will be for you to discover and exploit on your own! Some things to get you started on: knowing how the medals system works, and how to exploit it, what troops are most efficient against other types of troops, the importance of bunkers and entrenchment, importance of attack and defense arts, and many more.
Thank you for patiently reading my long long talk, and hope you will improve in the game with your new knowledge! Go kick some Russian butt!
Also, if you want more of these types of games, play Call of War (not an app, its a computer game the can be played without download on the Internet). I highly recommend it.
See you all, and have a good day!
